BJP designates new state in-charges ahead of early Uttar Pradesh and Punjab polls

The BJP announced fresh appointments for overseeing the upcoming Uttar Pradesh and Punjab elections, naming Nitin Nabin as national general secretary with Vinod Tawde and Jagdish Ishwarbhai Patel sharing the duties.

The Bharatiya Janata Party disclosed a reshuffle of its state-level leadership for Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, both slated for early-year elections. Nitin Nabin was promoted to national general secretary and assigned overall responsibility for the two states' electoral strategies. Rajya Sabha MP Vinod Tawde was appointed as the chief state in-charge, tasked with coordinating on-ground operations.

Assisting him, national secretary Jagdish Ishwarbhai Patel will act as co-in-charge, providing additional oversight. The announcements were made from New Delhi, underscoring the party's focus on these pivotal contests. By consolidating senior figures in these roles, the BJP seeks to strengthen its campaign infrastructure ahead of the upcoming polls.
