Bucharest Gendarmerie issues dozens of fines to supporters of Călin Georgescu
The Bucharest Gendarmerie handed out 32 administrative fines to attendees of Călin Georgescu's gatherings at the Central Detention Center for breaching public assembly rules.
During recent demonstrations outside the Central Detention Center, the Bucharest Gendarmerie issued 32 contravention fines to individuals supporting former presidential hopeful Călin Georgescu for not following the legal procedure for public gatherings. Gendarmerie officials explained that the presence of persons in the exterior zone required public order and safety actions, such as securing access routes and installing metal panels on the sidewalk.
They also recorded a case for the unlawful carrying or use of hazardous items. Blue-vested dialogue teams were deployed to maintain communication with participants, while traffic police helped keep vehicular flow normal. Because minors were observed at the event, the National Authority for Child Rights and Adoption was alerted. The force indicated that measures would be adjusted as the situation evolves.
