Budget 2027 earmarks RM6.6 billion for expanded micro-financing programmes

Prime Minister Anwar announced that the upcoming budget will direct RM6.6 billion toward micro-finance initiatives. RM3 billion will flow through the Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) scheme, benefiting roughly 360,000 entrepreneurs. Tekun Nasional will receive RM1.3 billion, focusing on Bumiputera entrepreneurs and adding RM150 million for the Indian community. Bank Simpanan Nasional is set to manage RM1.7 billion, targeting youths, gig workers, hawkers and other vulnerable groups.
