Cadillac launches 2027 Lyriq-V EV SUV in Australia with sub-$100k price

Cadillac has introduced the 2027 Lyriq-V, the brand’s inaugural V-Series electric SUV, to the Australian market at a base price of $99,000 plus on-road costs. The model pairs two electric motors for a combined output of 459 kW and 880 Nm, achieving a manufacturer-claimed 0-100 km/h time of 3.6 seconds, making it Cadillac’s quickest production car. Compared with competitors, the Lyriq-V offers a lower purchase price than the Audi SQ6 e-tron and BMW iX3, though it provides less WLTP range and slower DC fast-charging (130 kW).

Inside, the cabin retains the standard Lyriq layout with V-specific black Nappa leather, a 33-inch 9K-capable curved display, and an upgraded 23-speaker AKG system with Dolby Atmos. Standard driver-assist tech includes adaptive cruise, lane-centering and blind-spot monitoring, while the V-mode adds configurable performance settings and a synthetic power-train sound. Test drives praised the quiet, comfortable ride and strong acceleration in VMax mode, but flagged interior squeaks, a heavy feel in tight manoeuvres, and the removal of front knee airbags. Overall, the Lyriq-V positions Cadillac as a value-focused challenger in the premium EV SUV segment, despite compromises in range and charging speed.
