Former presidential hopeful Călin Georgescu declined the food provided in his preventive detention, choosing instead to receive meals from home or an authorized caterer.
After a definitive ruling by the Bucharest Court of Appeal, Călin Georgescu was placed in preventive arrest on Tuesday night. Officials said he may have a food package sent from his residence or purchase meals from a police-approved catering service. Georgescu is under investigation by DIICOT for allegedly leading a criminal group that defrauded a businessman from Buzău for €1.1 million. He also faces two additional charges, including alleged complicity in a coup-attempt and propaganda-related offenses.
