CBI submits supplemental chargesheet in NEET-UG 2026 paper-leak investigation

The Central Bureau of Investigation filed a supplementary chargesheet in the NEET-UG 2026 paper-leak case, and a Delhi judge ordered a copy for the 14th accused.

On Wednesday the Central Bureau of Investigation lodged a supplementary chargesheet in the NEET-UG 2026 paper-leak case before a Delhi court, prompting Special Judge Ajay Gupta to order that a copy be provided to the counsel of the 14th accused, Sheshrav Bajrang Suryawanshi alias Raj Suryawanshi, and to set the matter for further hearing on Thursday. The CBI claims Suryawanshi, from Nanded, Maharashtra, is a close associate of co-accused Shubham Khairnar and played a pivotal role in the illicit distribution of exam questions.

Earlier, the agency’s fast-track court had taken cognizance of charges against 13 other individuals arrested in Rajasthan, Gurugram, Nashik, Pune and Latur, based on forensic imaging of phones that uncovered deleted WhatsApp chats and PDF files. Key arrests included Mangilal, Dinesh and Vikas Biwal, Yash Yadav, Dhananjay Lokhande, and alleged mastermind P V Kulkarni. The National Testing Agency cancelled the May 3 exam after the leak allegations and conducted a re-examination on June 21.

Why it matters
