Comelec finalizes disqualification of Moro Ako Party from BARMM roster

The Commission on Elections has permanently removed the Moro Ako Party from the Major Regional Parliamentary Political Party list in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region after rejecting its motion for reconsideration.

In a final ruling, the Comelec en banc denied Moro Ako Party's request to overturn its removal, citing a lack of merit. The decision follows a petition by Aladin Abdul that alleged the party made false statements in its registration, including claiming a city that does not exist. The court applied Resolution No. 11220 to cancel the party's registration, effectively stripping it of its status in the BARMM political landscape.

Why it matters

The decision removes a political party from BARMM's official list, affecting representation and future elections in the region.
