Cristela Georgescu claims husband faces politically motivated fraud case

Cristela Georgescu emerged from a DIICOT raid alleging that the fraud dossier involving her husband, pro-Russian politician Călin Georgescu, is a politically driven persecution with unfounded charges. She recounted a forceful intrusion into their home, during which an armed individual guarded a child and a 90-year-old, and her husband was restrained before his underage children. Georgescu asserted that the president has exerted pressure on the judiciary, compromising the presumption of innocence and privacy rights.

She added that confidential information was leaked to the press before a judicial decision. The investigation remains ongoing, with Călin Georgescu held in preventive detention.
