Designated premier Luca Niculescu pushes to file government program and cabinet list
Designated prime minister Luca Niculescu is finalising negotiations with parliamentary parties to secure the 233 votes needed to present his governing program and ministerial slate.
Luca Niculescu, named by President Nicușor Dan to form a full-power government, is closing in on the parliamentary negotiations required for a confidence vote. He has held meetings with PSD leader Sorin Grindeanu, PNL head Ilie Bolojan, and UDMR chief Kelemen Hunor, while keeping AUR out of the talks. Niculescu says he will file the governing program and ministerial roster in the coming days, within the ten-day constitutional window.
He is weighing several coalition models, from technocratic to mixed, and seeks solid parliamentary backing rather than speculative support. His agenda emphasizes economic revival, pension increases for low earners, and fiscal consolidation paired with social solidarity.
