Egyptian President El-Sisi Reaffirms Support for Two-State Solution in Malaysia Meeting

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi told a joint press conference in Putrajaya that Egypt continues to back a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

In Kuala Lumpur, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and later addressed reporters in Putrajaya. He stressed that the Palestinian question is a core concern for the West Asian region and that Egypt maintains its commitment to a two-state solution. The proposed state would be defined by the pre-1967 borders and would have East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with international resolutions.

El-Sisi and Anwar both underscored the importance of achieving a fair and all-encompassing settlement. The joint statement highlighted continued diplomatic cooperation between Egypt and Malaysia on the issue.
