Enric Mas Holds Vuelta Lead as Wout van Aert Wins Stage 13 in Loja
Wout van Aert claimed victory on the 13th stage of the Vuelta a España, while Enric Mas stayed in the overall lead despite finishing three minutes behind.
The 13th stage, run between Granada towns and finishing in Loja, was decided by a sprint in which Belgian rider Wout van Aert beat Frenchman Valentin Paret-Peintre. A breakaway formed on the first-category climb at Venta de la Cebada, involving 28 riders, including van Aert and Englishman Matthew Brennan of Visma-Lease a Bike. Enric Mas arrived three minutes after the winner but retained his general classification advantage over his rivals.
