Exiles from former socialist states launch AI video warning of DSA policies

Independent Women’s Voice unveiled a two-minute, 39-second AI-generated advertisement called “Take Me Back!” that portrays a bleak society under the platform of Democratic Socialists of America candidates. The spot, styled after “Back to the Future,” follows a woman named Maya transported in a DeLorean-like car, showing assigned housing, unaffordable state-run grocery stores, absent police, stalled transit and delayed free healthcare.

It concludes with a scream and the warning, “Beware of the gap between promises and reality.” Patrice Onwuka, vice-president for economic policy at Independent Women’s Center for Economic Opportunity, framed the effort as a defense of the United States’ founding ethos. The piece arrives as DSA candidates secure primary wins in several districts for the 2026 cycle.
