Fidesz faction denies government claims, accuses Tisza Party of handing highways to foreign interests

In a statement, the Fidesz faction disputed Transport and Investment Minister Vitézy Dávid's remarks in parliament concerning the operation of the M6 highway segment linking Dunaújváros and Érd. The minister had asserted that the prior administration illegally granted a concession to Magyar Koncessziós és Infrastruktúra Fejlesztő Zrt. for the period 2026-2037, claiming the deal was excessively priced. Fidesz countered that no concession decision was taken by the former government and that the alleged contract never existed. The party also criticized the Tisza Party, saying it has started to hand over Hungary's strategic sectors, including motorways, to foreign economic actors, and warned that this process would return the country to a colonial-like status.
