Finance Minister Schillerová says some tax hikes are inevitable to balance the budget

Speaking on a Czech Television debate, Schillerová outlined that the administration is preparing several tax options, such as higher excise duties, increased refinery taxes, and new charges on investment properties and harmful substances. She said a mix of higher revenues and reduced spending could free up roughly 20 billion crowns, with about half of the savings expected from tax hikes. The minister said she now has a package of proposals ready to present to the coalition for selection.
