Former Bangsamoro legislator named mastermind of intercepted Laos drug shipment

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency says former Bangsamoro lawmaker Sultan Edrieza Hadji Nasser Rimbang orchestrated a half-ton methamphetamine shipment seized in Laos.

PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez identified Sultan Edrieza Hadji Nasser Rimbang, previously known only as a financial backer, as the planner of the smuggling operation. The shipment, valued at P3.5 billion, was intercepted while en route from Laos to the Philippines. Nerez said Rimbang not only funded the venture but also devised its logistics and directed his associates.
