Former foreign minister Børge Brende summoned to Norway's Epstein parliamentary hearing
Børge Brende, who stepped back after the Epstein revelations, will appear before the Storting for the first day of the inquiry into the foreign ministry’s culture and oversight.
After withdrawing from public duties following the Epstein disclosures, former foreign minister Børge Brende has been called to testify at the Storting’s Epstein hearing. The session, which also includes current prime minister Jonas Gahr Støre and opposition leader Ine Eriksen Søreide, focuses on control and culture within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In total, two sitting and nine former foreign and development ministers are slated to answer questions.
Why it matters
The hearing could reveal how Norway’s foreign ministry handled misconduct and affect public trust in government oversight.
