Former Interior Minister Predoiu warns of rising sabotage and possible terrorist threats in Romania

Cătălin Predoiu praised the joint effort of SRI, DIICOT and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in dismantling the Carfil sabotage network and warned that Romania may face further sabotage and potential terrorist attacks.

Cătălin Predoiu used a social-media message to commend the coordinated action of SRI, DIICOT and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in neutralising the sabotage network linked to the Carfil industrial platform. He emphasized the contributions of police forces, intelligence structures and cross-border police collaboration in the successful operation. Predoiu warned that the incident signals a broader surge in hybrid pressures on Romania’s security institutions, foreseeing more sabotage and even terrorist-type attacks.
