Formula 2 car bursts into flames after crash at Spanish Grand Prix practice

During the Spanish Grand Prix free-practice, Thai driver Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak crashed at turn 19, his Formula 2 car catching fire, but he escaped uninjured.

At about 11:15 on Friday, the first major incident of the Spanish Grand Prix weekend occurred when Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak collided with the barriers at curve 19 during the sole free-practice session. The impact ignited his Formula 2 monoplane, prompting a red-flag period that lasted over 20 minutes. Despite the blaze, the driver was able to exit the vehicle on his own and suffered no injuries.
