Future Justice Minister Andrea Chiș faces sharp accusations from former colleague

Siegfried Mureșan, the designated premier, nominated former Cluj-Napoca judge Andrea Chiș for the post of justice minister, despite her retirement at age 49 and a pension exceeding the average judicial salary. After submitting the governing program, Mureșan had previously denounced magistrates receiving pensions higher than salaries. In response, former colleague Adina Daria Lupea used her personal Facebook page to label Chiș a pretender, liar and duplicitous, citing a recent documentary appearance and personal grievances dating back to their 1999 wedding where Chiș was the godmother.

Lupea also complained about Chiș’s conduct at civil-registry offices and after a divorce, alleging she forced attendance at events with her former spouse. Other judges, such as Alin Ene, pointed out the apparent contradiction in Mureșan’s stance on early retirements while promoting Chiș, who benefited from a pension calculated on a high salary base.
