Heavy rain immobilizes school buses across Gurgaon, leaving children stranded for hours

A brief but intense rainstorm in Gurgaon led to widespread waterlogging that immobilized school buses and vans across the city. Parents shared messages of anxiety as vehicles were stuck on flooded stretches, notably at Subhash Chowk where police had blocked the road. Some buses were reported to have been stationary since around 12.30 pm, with one remaining in the same spot for over two hours.

The flooding extended to key arteries like Golf Course Road, Sohna Road, South City-1, DLF Phase 3, Ardee City, Sector 45, Sector 52A, MG Road, Club Palms, as well as areas around Sikanderpur, Rail Vihar and the Dwarka-Gurgaon route. Concern focused not only on delays but also on whether the children were hungry, needed restroom breaks, or were exposed to cold and rain. The incident highlighted the recurring vulnerability of school transport during heavy monsoon events in the city.
