Husband charged with murdering royal family GP after alleged burglary call

Mark Cain has been charged with murdering his wife, Dr Hannah Cain, a GP who treated members of the Royal Family, following a police call about a suspected break-in.

Police were called to the Cain home in Dersingham after Mark Cain reported a possible burglary and superficial injuries to himself. While his three children and two other children were sleeping upstairs, Hannah Cain was discovered unconscious and later pronounced dead, with a post-mortem showing head trauma and strangulation injuries. Mark Cain, who appeared by videolink from prison, denied the allegations and remained emotionless during the hearing.

He has been charged with murder and remanded in custody pending further medical reports. Hannah Cain, a GP known for treating senior Royal Family members, was mourned by colleagues and the local community, and her medical practice was temporarily closed.
