Husband of helicopter crash victim thanks supporters and authorities for assistance

Muhammad Faiz Abdul Malik expressed gratitude to the federal, Sarawak and Kelantan governments and the public for helping with his late wife Dr Ainul Baraah Kamarudin’s funeral arrangements.

Muhammad Faiz Abdul Malik, 37, spoke to reporters after the burial of his wife, Dr Ainul Baraah Kamarudin, who was among five fatalities in a Flying Doctor Service helicopter crash at Long Lellang STOLport in Baram. He thanked the federal, Sarawak and Kelantan governments for their help in coordinating the transport and identification of her remains, noting that the process, including DNA testing, concluded earlier than expected.

Faiz highlighted the outpouring of prayers and support from Malaysians nationwide, describing it as a blessing for his late wife. He also acknowledged the media’s role in conveying the news. The funeral prayers were held at Masjid Al Karomah Mukim Baung Besar in Pengkalan Chepa, and she was interred at Sri Kedeper Muslim Cemetery at 2.20 pm.
