India waives visa fees for Thai tourists through 2027

India will issue free 30-day double-entry e-tourist visas to Thai nationals until the end of 2027.

A new notice from the Government of India states that Thai nationals will be granted a 30-day e-tourist visa with double entry on a gratis basis. The visa can be applied for via the official website indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html and will be issued without any charge. This arrangement is set to stay in force until December 31 2027, unless extended or altered by later orders.

The move complements Thailand’s own visa-exemption policy, which allows Indian passport holders to stay for up to 30 days without a visa, with longer stays requiring a separate e-visa. The revised Thai scheme will be published in the Royal Gazette before taking effect.

Why it matters

Free visas boost tourism and strengthen travel ties between India and Thailand.
