Indiana Fever coach cites Michelle Obama before telling critics to ‘go to hell’

Following a flagrant foul by DiJonai Carrington on Sophie Cunningham, Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White held a press conference where she promoted love, grace, humility and kindness, even quoting Michelle Obama’s “When they go low, we go high.” White criticized an unnamed “online community” for creating false narratives about her and warned that divisive voices would not win. She added that she had not seen the play in real time and relied on the conference for her comments.

Host Jason Whitlock played the footage and noted the stark shift from her earlier positivity to the final statement, “Everybody else can go to hell.” Whitlock framed the episode as a staged performance that demanded applause, questioning the coach’s accountability. The segment aired on one outlet’s Fearless program.
