Investigation finds Clippers executives misrepresented their role in Leonard endorsement deal

Investigators concluded that statements by Ballmer and Zucker about the Clippers' involvement with Leonard and Aspiration were inaccurate, with Zucker's claim deemed false.

The probe determined that the Clippers did more than merely introduce Leonard to Aspiration. They suggested an endorsement contract, enlisted a business agent to structure it, shared proposed terms, offered input, and kept communicating with both parties. Ballmer's account was judged at best inaccurate, while Zucker's was found to be clearly false. The findings highlight the team's active participation in the deal's negotiation.

Why it matters

The findings expose potential conflicts of interest and misrepresentation by a major sports franchise in a financial endorsement.
