Iran says its IRGC captured a second U.S. underwater drone in Hormuz

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has again asserted that it seized a U.S. unmanned underwater vehicle in the Strait of Hormuz, this time labeling the craft a Mk 18 Mod 2 Kingfish rather than the previously mentioned REMUS 600. The claim was posted by IRGC spokesperson Second Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi on X, emphasizing that the capture resulted from a complex, coordinated operation that employed military intelligence and electronic-warfare capabilities.

State broadcaster IRIB echoed the statement, describing the drone as an advanced autonomous system used for espionage by the "American terrorist army." The captured vehicle has been handed to specialist technicians for data recovery. Iranian officials also reiterated that they consider the strait a hunting ground for U.S. submarines and warned of continued actions against unauthorized traffic.
