Israeli airstrikes and explosions hit multiple towns across southern Lebanon
Israeli forces carried out air attacks and detonations in several southern Lebanese villages overnight and early Thursday.
Overnight and into Thursday morning, Israeli aircraft bombed al-Qantara and al-Mansouri, towns south of Tyre. Large blasts were also reported near Bani Haiyyan and Kfar Tebnit. Additional explosions and shelling were heard in Wadi Mazlam, Zawtar al-Sharqiyah and Wadi al-Hujair, spreading shockwaves through nearby communities.
Why it matters
The attacks heighten tensions on the Israel-Lebanon border and affect civilian safety in the region.
