Israeli strikes kill two Palestinians and wound several as Gaza fighting intensifies
Gaza’s health ministry said Israeli attacks killed at least two Palestinians and injured four people in the past two days.
Over the last 48 hours, Gaza’s Ministry of Health confirmed two Palestinians were killed and four others wounded by Israeli attacks, notably a drone strike on the al-Hasanat family in Deir el-Balah that killed one family member. Israeli troops conducted two demolition operations in the city, causing houses to collapse, and advanced into its eastern perimeter, while artillery fire hit displaced-person camps in eastern Khan Younis and other civilian zones across the Strip.
Additional incidents were reported near ad-Dawa Street and northeast of the Bureij refugee camp. Health officials say the death count since the October 2025 ceasefire has reached 1,285, and overall casualties since the war began in October 2023 exceed 73,419, with many bodies still buried under rubble and burial space dwindling. Rescue crews remain unable to reach many sites, compounding the humanitarian crisis.
Why it matters
The latest strikes add to Gaza’s mounting civilian death toll and underscore the worsening humanitarian emergency.
