Israeli troops raid Bethlehem and Salfit towns amid Hebron operation

Israeli forces conducted raids in the Bethlehem and Salfit governorates, hitting Beit Fajjar, Tuqu and Kafr ad-Dik while a large operation continued in Hebron after two soldiers were killed.

The raids formed part of a broader military push in the occupied West Bank, coinciding with a major offensive in Hebron that followed a gunfight that left two Israeli soldiers dead. Soldiers entered Beit Fajjar and Tuqu in the Bethlehem governorate and moved into Kafr ad-Dik in Salfit. In Kafr ad-Dik, a family was expelled from its home, which was then repurposed as a temporary barracks for the troops. Local sources reported the actions, highlighting the expanding footprint of the operation.

Why it matters

The raids show a widening Israeli military campaign in the West Bank, affecting civilians and raising regional tension.
