Kimi Antonelli surged past teammate George Russell in the final laps to win the Italian Grand Prix after starting 19th.
Kimi Antonelli began the race from one outlet grid slot and, aided by a favorable strategy and a fresh engine, climbed steadily through the pack. A momentary off-track excursion at Variante del Rettifilo set him back, but he quickly regained pace on better tyres. After a 30-minute red-flag period caused by Leclerc's crash, Antonelli and Russell exchanged the lead several times before a Virtual Safety Car allowed Antonelli to pit for fresh medium tyres.
In the closing laps he overtook Russell, securing a 3.8-second margin at the finish line. Max Verstappen took third place, Lando Norris finished fourth, Oscar Piastri fifth, and Lewis Hamilton sixth after a challenging day for Ferrari.
