Labour surges to 30% in poll after Burnham's Brexit rethink pledge

A new Opinium poll shows Labour leading at 30% after Prime Minister Andy Burnham promised to reassess the UK's post-Brexit EU ties.

According to an Opinium poll, Labour has climbed to the top of the UK political landscape with 30% support, propelled by Prime Minister Andy Burnham's pledge to rethink Britain's post-Brexit relationship with the EU. The poll reveals that 54% of respondents favor Burnham's EU strategy, and 46% say Brexit has done more harm than good. Labour's policy platform, including a tax-funded National Care Service and adjustments to the pension triple lock, also enjoys robust public backing.

Reform UK occupies second place with 25% support, ahead of the Conservatives at 17% and the Green Party at 11%. Burnham is the sole major political figure with a net positive approval rating, recorded at plus eight.

Why it matters

The poll signals a potential shift in voter sentiment toward Labour ahead of upcoming elections.
