Lam Research to prioritize Indian sourcing for new silicon ingot equipment
Lam Research India announced it will try to obtain as many parts as possible locally for its upcoming silicon ingot manufacturing tools at the new Bengaluru plant, according to corporate vice-president and India MD Rangesh Raghavan.
The semiconductor equipment maker said its Bengaluru unit will focus on domestic procurement for high-precision tools used to produce silicon ingots and related components such as chamber walls and rings. Rangesh Raghavan, corporate vice-president and India managing director, highlighted the strategy as part of a broader ₹10,000 crore investment in India. The move aims to strengthen the local supply chain and reduce reliance on imported parts.
