Latest poll shows PP and Vox poised for majority, PSOE set to lose seats
A private poll released between 5 and 11 October projects the PP at 133 seats and Vox at 66, giving the right-wing bloc a clear majority, while the PSOE would fall to 104 seats.
A new barometer of private polls compiled between 5 and 11 October shows the People's Party winning 133 seats, four fewer than in 2023, while Vox would double its presence to 66 seats, together forming a 199-seat majority in the lower house. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who recently said he sees no alternative to continuing his government, would see the PSOE drop to 104 seats, losing 17 seats and roughly 5.8 points of vote share.
In a recent interview, Alberto Núñez Feijóo described Vox as having full democratic legitimacy and positioned the PSOE’s policies as the primary opponent. The left-wing alliance Sumar (now Frente Amplio) would secure only 10 seats and Podemos 2, a sharp decline from their combined 31 seats in the last election. Nationalist and separatist parties would increase to 35 seats, with ERC at 9, Bildu 7, Junts 6, PNV 6, BNG 3, Adelante Andalucía 2 and Coalición Canaria 1. The poll was compiled by Electocracia.com.
Why it matters
The poll suggests a shift toward a right-wing majority in Spain's next parliament, challenging the incumbent government's agenda.
