Lawmaker Rayer demands police reveal investigators in detainee Noorizwan's death

Lawmaker Rayer called for the Kuala Lumpur police chief to disclose the officers involved in the interrogation of Noorizwan, who died in custody after severe injuries.

Rayer labeled the incident involving Noorizwan as a further case of death in detention and called for immediate government action. He pressed the Kuala Lumpur police chief to reveal the identity of the chief investigator and every officer who participated in the interrogation, as well as the techniques employed. Rayer insisted that any officer responsible for violence should be suspended without delay and face criminal charges.

Noorizwan was arrested in late September and held for eleven days without his family's knowledge before being moved to a university hospital. A senior forensic pathologist confirmed that his death resulted from blunt-force injuries to the head, with the autopsy reporting multiple serious wounds, including broken ribs and internal bleeding. Rayer demanded that the investigation be reopened under the criminal code provision for homicide.
