Le Pen leads 2027 French presidential race, Mélenchon second in most scenarios
A new Ipsos-BVA poll shows Marine Le Pen ahead with roughly a third of voting intentions, while Jean-Luc Mélenchon ranks second in four of six tested scenarios.
The survey of over 13,000 French voters finds Le Pen commanding between 33% and 35% support. Mélenchon follows, reaching the runoff in four out of six possible match-ups with vote shares between 15.5% and 17%. Centre-right candidate Édouard Philippe qualifies for the second round only when he is the sole centrist contender, whereas Renaissance leader Gabriel Attal does not appear in any runoff configuration. The poll also notes a strong desire among respondents for a "real social and political change."
