Maharashtra CM Fadnavis Dismisses Vote-Theft Allegations, Blames Rahul Gandhi for Undermining Institutions

On Sunday, Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis dismissed allegations of vote theft as unfounded and launched a broad attack on opposition leader Rahul Gandhi for repeatedly questioning the Election Commission of India’s handling of the Special Intensive Revision. Fadnavis claimed Gandhi’s “mind was stolen” and asked the prime minister to form a committee to restore it, while insisting that all three election commissioners acted unanimously and that a recent press note clarified any misunderstandings.

He accused Gandhi of using the Constitution to undermine the ECI, Supreme Court, Comptroller and Auditor General and Reserve Bank of India, portraying his strategy as creating “anarchy” and a left-wing takeover. The CM also referenced complaints from NDA allies like Chirag Paswan and Chandrababu Naidu, and dismissed upcoming opposition protests, citing the West Bengal election results as evidence that the SIR process does not affect outcomes.
