Malaysia expands BUDI Diesel eligibility transfer and adds student airfare aid
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that BUDI Diesel eligibility can now be transferred to any BUDI95 beneficiary and that a one-off RM500 airfare grant will support 7,095 new public-university students.
During Malaysia Day events in Kuching, Prime Minister and Finance Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the BUDI Diesel scheme will now permit eligibility transfers to any Malaysian who already benefits from the BUDI95 program, expanding beyond the earlier limit to immediate family members. Vehicle owners with more than one diesel car can also shift their eligibility to up to three separate vehicles. The changes take effect immediately, with applications to be filed via the BUDI Madani portal.
Additionally, Anwar introduced a one-off RM500 airfare assistance for 7,095 students starting public higher-education courses in the September-October intake, covering travel to Sabah, Sarawak or Labuan. Present at the ceremony were Sarawak governor Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Sarawak premier Abang Johari Openg and Sabah chief minister Hajiji Noor.
