Malaysia's 2027 Budget Targets Curriculum Rollout and School Quality Boost
The Ministry of Education will channel the 2027 budget into implementing the new curriculum and the Malaysia Education Plan 2026-2035, while easing school costs and upgrading facilities.
In a televised briefing, the Ministry of Education outlined how the 2027 budget will support the rollout of the new curriculum and the Malaysia Education Plan 2026-2035. Minister Fadhlina Sidek highlighted financial assistance for families, including a higher Form Six allowance, expanded Early Schooling Aid and support for students with special educational needs and special-education teachers. Infrastructure spending will focus on constructing new schools, renovating rundown campuses and upgrading sports facilities, with modular and multi-storey building methods speeding delivery.
Safety initiatives feature dormitory audits, additional CCTV, warden assistants and training for counsellors to spot bullying early. The ministry also plans climate-adaptation actions, such as improving facilities against heatwaves and assessing relocation or upgrades for flood-vulnerable schools.
