Man Charged with Killing Former Partner in Slacks Creek Remains in Custody

Ronald Arthur Claren Cora, 37, is accused of murdering his 27-year-old former partner, whose body was discovered at his Slacks Creek home shortly after 12:30 am. Police were dispatched within minutes after a man reported the woman was unresponsive, and despite attempts at CPR, she could not be saved. Detective Inspector Ian Galpin confirmed the victim had been in contact with police in the days leading up to the incident.

Cora did not attend the Brisbane Magistrates Court hearing and made no bail application, remaining in custody. A few of the victim’s friends were present in court. The case will be revisited at Beenleigh Magistrates Court later this month, when Cora’s lawyer is expected to seek a brief of evidence.
