Man charged with murder and arson after fatal Hounslow house fire

A fire broke out at a residential address on Berkeley Avenue in Hounslow on the night of 19 August, resulting in the death of a 48-year-old woman and leaving a 40-year-old woman in life-threatening condition. Seven other occupants—six men and one woman—were treated for minor injuries and later discharged. Police have charged 34-year-old Pawel Kulpa with one count of murder, eight counts of attempted murder and a single count of arson with intent to endanger life.

He is scheduled to appear before Willesden Magistrates’ Court. Crown prosecutor Lisa Ramsarran stated that prosecutors have gathered enough evidence to bring the case forward and will continue working with the Metropolitan Police as the investigation proceeds.
