Man seriously stabbed in the back during early-morning attack in Lippstadt
A 21-year-old man was severely injured after being stabbed in the back during an assault in Lippstadt's city centre on Saturday morning.
Around 6:45 a.m. on Saturday, a 21-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were walking through Lippstadt's downtown area when two men began following them, verbally abusing them. The assailants then assaulted the man, beating him and pushing him to the ground. After the victim initially escaped, the attackers caught up with him again and one of them stabbed him in the back with a knife, causing serious injuries.
He was transported by rescue helicopter to a Dortmund clinic, where a life-saving operation was performed. Police have detained a male suspect near the scene but released him, and they are now searching for two suspects estimated to be about 25 years old. The Dortmund police headquarters has opened a murder commission and is asking witnesses to contact the Dortmund criminal police office.
