Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes' Cheshire home burglarized during Italy defeat
Bruno Fernandes returned from Manchester United's 4-1 loss to Como to find his Cheshire mansion had been broken into by three masked men.
On Wednesday night, three masked individuals forced entry into Bruno Fernandes' £4 million mansion in Nether Alderley, Cheshire, shortly after the Manchester United captain flew back from a 4-1 loss to Como in northern Italy. The burglars are believed to have scaled the garden fence that backs onto woodland and fled with undisclosed items, despite the property’s alarm, CCTV and electric gate. A neighbour spotted the suspects and called police at about 8:30 pm; officers arrived to find no trace of the intruders but confirmed a burglary had occurred.
Cheshire Police, represented by Detective Inspector David Jarvis of Macclesfield Proactive CID, said the inquiry is in its early stages and urged witnesses to come forward. It has not been confirmed whether Fernandes' wife Ana Pinho and their two children were at home during the incident.
