Manchester United eye Leipzig captain David Raum as new left-back option

Manchester United are said to have placed RB Leipzig captain David Raum on their shortlist for the left-back position, assessing him in the coming weeks. Raum, 28, played for Germany at the World Cup, appearing as a substitute in the 7-1 win over Curacao and completing the full match against Ecuador. His four-year spell at Leipzig makes him a more seasoned candidate than the club's other linked targets, 19-year-old Lewis Hall and 20-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly.

While Hall is reportedly keen to join United, Newcastle United consider him off-limits and a fee near £60 million could deter a deal. Arsenal have offered Lewis-Skelly, but the youngster prefers to stay at the Emirates. United’s focus remains on bolstering the midfield before the winter transfer window closes.
