Maniac accused of killing Pittsburgh doctor sexually assaulted woman hours earlier: police

Elijah Hemingway, 32, allegedly ambushed the woman Wednesday morning as she was walking along a path that connects to an alley in Wilkinsburg, the Allegheny County Police Department said in a Facebook post Saturday. Officials alleged Hemingway then stole the woman’s cell phone during the incident. Authorities said the victim did not know Hemingway before the alleged assault.

Wilkinsburg police then notified Allegheny County detectives, who further investigated the alleged sexual assault alongside the homicide case. Detectives recovered “multiple items connecting Hemingway to the reported sexual assault, along with the victim’s cell phone that was reported stolen during the incident,” Allegheny County police said.
