Masked protesters smashed windows at CNews headquarters in Paris shortly before a nationwide rally against rising living costs.

Around 8 a.m. on Saturday, a large group of about a hundred masked people converged on the CNews headquarters in Paris and threw projectiles at the windows, causing damage. Police quickly intervened, clearing the entrance and dispersing the crowd within minutes, and later detained 21 individuals. The incident unfolded just hours before a coordinated national demonstration against the cost of living, spurred by online calls to resurrect the Gilets jaunes movement.

Unions, students, and workers are expected to join protests across France, with a Parisian procession slated to run from Place de la République to Place de Clichy in the afternoon. Authorities have not indicated further escalation, but the episode highlights heightened tensions surrounding economic grievances.
