Micah McFadden eager for Giants debut after recovering from Lisfranc injury

Linebacker Micah McFadden is set to play in the Giants' preseason opener against the Vikings after healing from a season-ending Lisfranc foot injury.

Returning to the field for the Giants' preseason clash with the Vikings, Micah McFadden said he feels physically prepared after a Lisfranc foot injury ended his previous season early. He recently agreed to a one-year, $3.75 million prove-it deal, but lost his starting role when the team drafted Arvell Reese and added Tremaine Edmunds. McFadden emphasized focusing on controllable factors and staying ready for any opportunity.

Defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson runs a system similar to the one McFadden learned under former coordinator Wink Martindale, providing a sense of continuity. Linebackers coach Frank Bush praised McFadden’s professionalism and highlighted his role as a teaching example for teammates. The Giants also have several other players returning from injuries, while some, like Malik Nabers and John Michael Schmitz, remain sidelined.

Why it matters

McFadden's return shows the Giants' depth at linebacker and impacts their preseason preparation.
