MIHAS 2026 logs RM5.5 billion in sales, sets sights on RM6 billion

By the fourth day of MIHAS 2026, sales reached RM5.5 billion, and MATRADE chairman Reezal Merican said the event aims to hit RM6 billion.

At MIHAS 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, sales totaled RM5.5 billion by the event's fourth day, according to MATRADE chairman Reezal Merican, who noted that this amount excludes the value of signed MOUs and deals made through agentic artificial intelligence. He remained optimistic about reaching a RM6 billion target before the show ends. The fair also wrapped up its awards ceremony at MITEC, handing out 13 prizes in three flagship groups: Excellence, Innovation-Sustainability-Digitalisation, and the inaugural Women in Export awards.

Winners included NIMS Adeliciousz, Industri Makanan Jati, RK Mubaraka, Chocofac (Malaysia), Haritage Brands, Zhafou Global, HYGR, PrintDaddy, Betrimex, Mega Fortris, Nestle Products, Abin Manufacturing, and Innovate Health. Reezal Merican indicated that new award categories will be introduced next year to boost foreign exhibitor participation and reinforce MIHAS's global brand.

Why it matters

The figures highlight the rapid growth of Malaysia's halal export market and its ambition to expand internationally.
