Milei rallies Spanish right, slams Sánchez as dictatorial thief during Madrid visit
Argentine President Javier Milei arrived in Madrid, embraced Isabel Díaz Ayuso and met Vox leaders, while denouncing Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez with harsh insults.
Javier Milei landed in Madrid for his seventh Spanish trip, where he was warmly received by regional president Isabel Díaz Ayuso in a makeshift venue at Canal de Isabel II. He also met Vox secretary general Ignacio Garriga and Disenso foundation director Jorge Martín Frías, describing them as allies and praising their ideas for rescuing Spain. In a fiery speech, Milei labeled Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez an “impresentable dictador”, a “liberticida” and a “delincuente ladrón”, and urged the audience to expel the socialists.
He criticized taxes as theft and the public deficit as immoral, linking them to the welfare state. The remarks drew applause from Vox figures such as spokesperson José Antonio Fúster, PP Senate president Pedro Rollán, former Madrid president Esperanza Aguirre and others. Spain’s foreign ministry condemned the insults but stopped short of recalling the Argentine ambassador, and officials hope Milei will attend the upcoming Ibero-American Summit in Madrid.
