Miljöpartiet confirms invitation to talks on post-Tidö coalition

Outside the parliament, Miljöpartiet secretary Katrin Wissing gathered journalists and confirmed that the party has been invited by the Social Democrats to a collective meeting with the opposition. She said Miljöpartiet will accept the invitation and attend, emphasizing the existence of a red-green majority in the Riksdag. She noted that Miljöpartiet has been in continuous contact with the other opposition groups throughout the term and is prepared to approach the negotiations constructively. The party also wants the four parties to draft a joint political programme focusing on climate, equality and welfare. While she did not specify which parties should compromise, she affirmed Miljöpartiet's place in a red-green government.
