Modi pledges AI training, free exam coaching, sports hunt and jobs for India's youth

Prime Minister Narendra Modi used the 80th Independence Day speech to position India's youth as both the primary beneficiary and driver of the country's "Viksit Bharat" vision. He announced that one crore young Indians will receive training in AI and related emerging technologies under the "Shakti Ki Saptadhara" framework. To ease the financial burden of coaching, the government will offer free online preparation for various competitive examinations.
A new sports talent hunt will scout children aged five to fifteen nationwide, aiming to nurture early one outlet potential. Modi also highlighted manufacturing, agriculture, defence, green and blue economies, urging MSMEs to use free trade agreements to expand into global markets. The address emphasized building a global innovation hub in areas such as robotics, quantum tech, space, data centres and future 6G communications.
